How to create and measure satisfaction at meetings

An interactive event can both create and measure satisfaction.

In the meetings environment, Savvy Audience Response Systems users enhance participation and honor the attendee’s opinions. For example, determining the attendee’s level of expectation about the session, gives the presenter a snapshot of what they want to know, or discuss, and it includes the audience in the process. A wonderful automatic benefit is that it actually creates an easily quantifiable level of satisfaction.

As is true the important ARS benefits, it is so basic that it is almost always overlooked. This satisfaction is easily measurable. Ask a positively worded wrap up question at the end of the day: Which session was of most value to you?  This is NOT a rating of the speaker. It is about the value of the session to the audience.

Managements intended use of the response system may be for some other purpose, however the feeling of inclusion in the decision making process is very often of greater long term value. This is equally true for employees, customers and association members. It is common to hear people leaving the interactive session saying that no one ever asked for, or cared about their opinion.

Quick Tally often advises management — and often the CEO to kick off the event by champion a listening/caring theme. The only caveat is that the culture is such that the ideas and insights once expressed can actually be the catalyst for change.
